About Barbara Beckerman

Barbara Beckerman has been working in mixed media art for the past 60 years.  She began with B/W photography while walking the New York city streets capturing candids of the every day life and emotions of all that passed in front of her lens from the different corners and depth of the city.  

She went on to 3 dimensional work and sculpture.  Presently her work is on paper.  Her collage and mixed media work celebrate the feminine energy from the psyche to the subconscious.

The cold wax paintings are a process of unwinding, releasing and letting go as spontaneous, intuitive expression to the unknown  as it comes out and layers upon the canvas.
